The Mosaica Collection includes the egniatic Sosa Style necklaces.  Although contemporary crafters often refer to this stitch as a variation of the herringbone stitch; my inspiration and instructress, Esther Mahlango, said the Ndebele don’t use a name for it at all, and  it has variations of it’s own.  Please Enjoy!

Fort Christanna & Rebecca’s Land

Rebecca Stewart was born around the time that Fort Christanna was dismantled.  Many of the Occaneechi/ Sapponi who had been living there redistributed themselves in the same area, further up in old Occaneechi mountain territitory, or near other bands of their kin.  Rebecca bought and maintained land very near the fort.
